Ray Kawaguchi started selling for the Ball Seed Company's Ball Pacific division out of Palo Alto, CA in 1973. He left Ball in 1976 to join the Vaughan Seed Company out of Downers Grove, IL and sold for them from 1976 until 1985 in southern California and Hawaii. Ray specialized in Foliage Plants while he was with Ball and Vaughan's.
Ray has been a independent sales representative since then, and specializes in selling perennials, ornamental grasses, ferns, tissue cultured plants, annual plugs, premium daylilies and selected nursery stock items to wholesale nurseries. Most plants are sold through Mid Atlantic Plant Co. a plant broker out of Newark, Delaware. Ray also represents selected nurseries directly.
Ray was out on the road for over 20 years and in 1993 decided to come off the road in order to better service his customers.
